Wood Rot

Problem:

Wood rot is caused by rot organisms, wood-destroying insects or moisture. Often you need to treat for both moisture and pests in order to stop the problem from recurring. Most commonly homeowners repaint or replace the wood without treating the underlying causes.

Control:

The Thermal Wall Injection System & Treatments (TWIST) plugs enable homeowners to install unobtrusive plugs and inject wood preservatives followed by pesticides into areas where wood rot is a problem. Once the treatment is complete, simply press the plug cap into place and the plug is secure for years to come.

Note:

To keep moisture from collecting on wood, you should also correct contributing problems by cutting back shrubbery from a north-facing wall, fixing rain gutters and downspouts to prevent rainwater from running down exterior walls, and allowing free air to flow around all exterior (exposed) surfaces of your home.
